Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Chairman of Bellamonde Hotels, became the first Sikh from India appointed as a Board Trustee of ESRDS, France. His role strengthens Indo-French ties in education and hospitality.
New Delhi, March 18, 2025 – In a momentous achievement, Dr. Gurmeet Singh, Chairman of Bellamonde Hotels, has been appointed as the Board of Trustee of Ecole Supérieure Robert de Sorbon (ESRDS), France, during the prestigious XXII Sorbon International Doctorate Convocation. This makes him the first Sikh from India to receive this esteemed recognition from a French university.
The grand event held at Bellamonde, New Delhi, was attended by eminent personalities, including Dr. John Thomas Prade, President of ESRDS-France; Dr. Vivek Choudhary, Vice President of ESRDS and Chairman of IIPPT Foundation and Dr. Nirmal Bansal, Provost of ESRDS-France. Among the distinguished guests were Dr. Meenakshi Lekhi, Former Member of Parliament, and Dr. Bart S. Fisher, Nobel Peace Prize nominee.
Dr. Gurmeet Singh's appointment is a testament to his outstanding contributions to the hospitality sector, leadership and academic excellence. His association with ESRDS-France has been longstanding and this new role will allow him to further strengthen Indo-French academic and cultural collaboration.
