Emraan Hashmi is returning as Shivam in the sequel. Awarapan 2 will hit the theatres on April 3, 2026. It will be directed by Nitin Kakkar and is produced by Vishesh Films.
Awarapan 2 promo features Emraan Hashmi's gut-wrenching and emotional visuals from Mohit Suri라이브 바카라 2007 film. His character is seen standing on a boat, and looking at the sun setting. He is also seen setting a bird free from a cage, and narrates, “Kisi aur ki zindagi ke liye marna hi meri manzil hai (To die for someone else라이브 바카라 life is my destiny)."
At the end of the teaser, there comes a text that reads: “Awarapan 2, The journey continues'' and the cult song Tera Mera Rishta from the 2007 film plays in the background.
Sharing Awarapan 2 promo video on his Instagram handle, Hashmi wrote, "Bas mujhe kuch aur der zinda rakh #Awarapan2 in cinemas, 3rd April 2026 (sic)."
Awarapan was inspired by the South Korean movie A Bittersweet Life and was produced by Mukesh Bhatt. It also starred Shriya Saran, Mrinalini Sharma, and Ashutosh Rana. Though the film didn't perform well at the box office, Emraan was raved for his performance. Pritam composed the music of the film and all the songs are still etched in the memories of the music lovers.
Apart from Awarapan 2, Hashmi will be seen in Ground Zero. He is also making his Telugu debut with OG starring Pawan Kalyan and Priyanka Mohan. He also has G2, with Adivi Sesh, Wamiqa Gabbi and Madhu Shalini.
