Raid 2 Box Office Collection Day 1: Ajay Devgn-Riteish Deshmukh Starrer Has A Solid Start

Raid 2, a sequel to 2018 blockbuster, hit the theatres on May 1, which was a holiday (Maharashtra Day/Labour Day). The Ajay Devgn-starrer crime-thriller had a solid start on Day 1, as it earned over Rs 18 crore at the box office. With this, it has become the third-biggest opener of the year behind Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava and Salman Khan's Sikandar. Chhaava made Rs 31 crore on its opening day, and Sikandar debuted with Rs 26 crore.

According to Sacnilk, Raid 2 collected Rs 18.25 nett on its opening day, with an overall occupancy of 34.36%. Night shows had the maximum occupancy of 42%, while morning shows had minimum footfall of 21.23%.

The film performed well in Maharashtra, followed by Gujarat, Delhi, and West Bengal.

Raid 2 is Ajay Devgn's first release of 2025. Last year, he had four releases- Singham Again, Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, Maidaan and Shaitaan. Out of these four films, Shaitaan was a blockbuster, which earned around Rs 148 crore at the box office. It opened at around Rs 14.75 crore.

Raid, which was released in 2018, collected around Rs 10 crore on Day 1 and made a lifetime collection of Rs 103 crore. Raid 2 is expected to perform better than the first one and over the weekend, the collections seem to see a surge.

About Raid 2

Ajay has returned as Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer Amay Patnaik, to take down corrupt politician, Dada Manohar Bhai (played by Riteish Deshmukh).

Patnaik conducts his 75th raid at Dada Bhai's residence and leaves no stone unturned to find out the black money from his house.

Raid 2 Cast

Apart from Ajay and Riteish, Raid 2 also stars Saurabh Shukla, Vaani Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, and Amit Sial, among others in significant roles.

The film has been directed by Raj Kumar Gupta and is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar.
