Sikandar Box Office Collection Day 4: Salman Khan starrer collected only Rs 9.75 crore.
Salman Khan's latest release, Sikandar, is struggling at the box office. On its fourth day, the film saw a huge decline as the collections dropped by nearly 50%.
The Eid release, which opened at Rs 26 crore on Sunday, earned Rs 29 crore on its second day, which was an Eid holiday. On Day 3, it witnessed a decline of about 33%, earning Rs 19.5 crore. On Day 4, the action thriller collected only Rs 9.75 crore. The total box office collection of Sikandar now stands at Rs 84.25 crore, according to early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk.
The film had an overall 12.08% Hindi occupancy on April 2, with the maximum occupancy of 16.01% in the night shows and lowest footfall in the morning shows, that was 5.29%.
Sikandar has earned Rs 123.75 crore worldwide, with Rs 35 crore collections from the overseas market. However, Salman Khan Films, the production house, claimed that it has amassed Rs 141.5 crore globally.
Reportedly made on a budget of Rs 200 crore, Sikandar turns out to be one of Salman Khan's weakest performers at the box office. The film mostly received negative reviews from critics and audiences. Also, it leaked online, which hampered the box office collections to a certain extent.
Reports claim that Sikandar has been replaced in many theatres due to low demand. A report in Bollywood Hungama claims that the film has been pulled from theatres in cities like Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Indore and Surat.
Directed by AR Murugadoss, the film also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, Prateik Babbar, Anjini Dhawan, and Jatin Sarna in pivotal roles.
