Her death was confirmed by her son Shivaji, as per a report in PTI.
He told the news agency, "She died around 2 pm yesterday. She had a heart problem and kidney failure''.
Bindu Ghosh's last rites took place on Monday.
Apart from being an actor, Bindu Ghosh was also a great dancer. She was known for her comic roles. Her contribution to the Tamil cinema is immense.
In her career span, she worked with actors like Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, Sivaji Ganesan, Mohan, Prabhu, Goundamani, Senthil, and Vijayakanth, among others.
She started her career as an actor in the 1982 film, Kozhi Koovuthu. Prior to that, Ghosh made her onscreen debut as a dancer alongside Kamal Haasan in the 1960 film, Kalathur Kannamma.
She also worked in films like Dowry Kalyanam, Thir Komberi Mookan, Soorakottai Singakutti, Osai, Mangamma Sabatham, Uruvangal Maaralam, Needhiyin Nizhal, Navagraha Nayagi, and Thoongathey Thambi Thoongathey, among others.
As per reports, in a recent interview, Ghosh spoke about struggling with financial crisis and deteriorating health. She had also undergone a heart surgery. Bindu had said that her elder son left her as he could not take care of her. She had also said that her younger son took care of her, but he didn't have enough money.
