According to the industry tracker Sacnilk, Vidaamuyarchi raked in Rs 22 crore nett in India on Thursday. The action-thriller had an occupancy of 58.81% in the morning, 60.27% in the afternoon, 54.79% in evening shows and night shows had an overall occupancy of 71.06%. Trichy and Pondicherry had maximum occupancy than Chennai.
Vidaamuyarchi is expected to perform better during the weekend.
Vidaamuyarchi follows story of Arjun (Ajith Kumar) and Kayal (Trisha) who go on a last trip together as they go through divorce proceedings 12 years after their wedding. During the trip, their car breaks down in an isolated place in Azerbaijan.
They meet truck drivers Deepika (Regina Cassandra) and Rakshith ( Arjun Sarja), who offer a ride to Kayal to a nearby cafe. Arjun stays back to fix a minor car inconvenience, but later when he reaches the cafe, he finds Kayal missing. Arjun then searches for his missing wife, and it forms the rest of the story.
