AAP Vs BJP Vs Congress: Key Constituencies And Key Battles | Delhi Assembly Elections 2025

National capital Delhi is all set to witness the much-awaited and one of the most fiercely contested electoral battles in years with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress gearing up for the mega showdown across 70 assembly seats on February 5. The counting and results will be on February 8.

The history of Delhi elections suggests that the three top parties have always preferred going solo except in the 2019 Lok Sabha election when the Congress and the AAP came together and secured a vote share of 43.1 percent.

Here we will discuss the top ten constituencies where tough battles are expected.

1. New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal (AAP) Vs Parvesh Verma (BJP) Vs Sandeep Dikshit (Cong)

All eyes are on the New Delhi constituency from where the former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal has been contesting for the last three assembly elections. In 2013, Kejriwal defeated Congress’ Sheila Dikshit, who was the then chief minister of Delhi, and retained the seat for the 3 elections from 1998 to 2013.

This year, the New Delhi seat is preparing for a three-way battle with AAP라이브 바카라 Arvind Kejriwal contesting against ex-CM Sahib Singh Sharma's son BJP라이브 바카라 Parvesh Verma, and ex-CM Sheila Dikshit's son and Congress’ Sandeep Dikshit.

2. Kalkaji: CM Atishi (AAP) Vs Ramesh Bidhuri (BJP) Vs Alka Lamba (Congress)

The Kalkaji seat also awaits another key contest as current Delhi CM Atishi, who took over the chief minister's role following Kejriwal's resignation in 2024, is fighting as the AAP candidate.

Atishi has been pitted against BJP라이브 바카라 Ramesh Bidhuri and the Congress’ Alka Lamba. Atishi secured victory from the Kalkaji seat in the previous 2020 assembly elections defeating BJP라이브 바카라 Dharambir.

Both Atishi라이브 바카라 opponents this time are expected to bring in serious challenge. While Lamba herself is a former party member who left AAP to join the Congress, Bidhuri on the other hand is a prominent figure from South Delhi who served as an MP twice representing the area.

3. Malviya Nagar: Somnath Bharti (AAP) Vs Satish Upadhyay (BJP) Vs Jitendra Kumar Kochar (Congress)

The Malviya Nagar constituency will see AAP candidate Somnath Bharti contest the elections for the seat once again, winning the last 3 elections with an impressive lead over his competitors. Bharti won the 2015 and 2020 assembly elections with more than 50% of the vote share. The seat will also be contested by BJP라이브 바카라 Satish Upadhyay, along with the Congress’ Jitendra Kumar Kochar.

Upadhyay is a strong contender with experience of successful terms as the Chairman of the Education Committee of the SDMC for two terms, and is also considered a man working for the people.

Bharti, the most likely favoured candidate, however, has the backing of winning 3 consequent elections along with his activism for the citizens. He was also appointed Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee by the Delhi Legislative Assembly. Bharti also has experience as a lawyer and will use that to tip the scales in his favour.

4. Jangpura: Manish Sisodia (AAP) Vs Tarvinder Singh Marwah (BJP) Vs Farhad Suri (Congress)

This year, AAP selected Manish Sisodia as the new face of Jangpura. Sisodia is pitted against BJP's Tarvinder Singh Marwah and Congress candidate Farhad Suri.

In 2015 and 2020, the seat was won by AAP's Praveen Kumar. In the 2020 elections, the AAP won by more than 15,000 votes than its closest competitor, the BJP.

All eyes are on this three-way battle as well as many find fielding former deputy CM Sisodia could turn out to be a risky gamble considering his imprisonment in connection in the Liquor Policy case.

5. Greater Kailash: Saurabh Bharadwaj (AAP) Vs Garvit Singhvi (Congress) Vs Shikha Rai (BJP)

Bharadwaj, the chief spokesperson for the Delhi Unit of the Aam Aadmi Party, has been a key member of AAP for some time now. Bharadwaj will be facing Congress Candidate Garvit Singhvi and BJP candidate Shikha Rai.

Bharadwaj's environmental and urban initiatives have given him a strong hold amongst the voters in the constituency. The candidate would be aiming for his fourth victory this election.

6. Rohini: Pradeep Mittal (AAP) Vs Vijender Gupta (BJP) Vs Sumesh Gupta (Cong)

Another fierce AAP vs BJP rivalry is expected in the Rohini seat as well where AAP candidate Pradeep Mittal has been fielded against BJP라이브 바카라 two-time winner (2015 and 2020) Vijender Gupta and Congress' Sumesh Gupta. In 2020, Vijender Gupta bagged the seat defeating AAP라이브 바카라 Rajesh Nama ‘Bansiwala’ by a margin of over 12,000 votes.

The battle is expected to be tough for Mittal as Gupta has been a prominent figure in the Rohini area. Besides, Gupta also enjoys a heavy backing from his party – the BJP – having been appointed as the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Delhi Assembly in April 2015.

7. Okhla: Amanatullah Khan vs Ariba Khan (Congress) Vs Shri Manish Chaudhari (BJP)

For the third conseuctive time, the Okhla constituency will be contested by Amanatullah Khan from the Aam Aadmi Party while Ariba Khan and Manish Chaudhari will represent Congress and BJP respectively.

Khan in 2020 and 2015 defeated BJP Candidate Braham Singh with a margin of more 60,000 votes each time. Khan being part of a number of controversies, have faced several arrest attempts.

8. Patparganj: Awadh Ojha (AAP) vs Ravinder Singh Negi (BJP) vs Anil Chaudhary (Cong)

For the past three elections, the Patparganj constituency has been witnessing AAP's victories under former Deputy Chief Minister and AAP veteran Manish Sisodia.

However, this year AAP fielded teacher-turned-politician Awadh Ojha as its candidate against BJP라이브 바카라 Ravinder Singh Negi and the Congress’ Anil Chaudhary.

Before the AAP, Congress dominated the constituency from 1998 to 2013. Anil Chaudhary himself won the seat in the 2008 election by a margin of 663 votes.

9. Shakur Basti: Satyendra Jain (AAP) Vs Satish Luthra (Cong) Vs Karnail Singh (BJP)

AAP also tasted victory in the Shakur Basti constituency for the past three elections by senior leader and former minister Satyendra Jain who is all set for his fourth electoral battle from the seat this time. Jain will be opposed by the Congress candidate Satish Luthra and BJP candidate Karnail Singh.

Jain has become quite popular in the constituency, seen through the gradual increase in his vote share in the past three elections. Jain won the 2020 elections with a vote share above 50%.

Jain, who was behind the bars for over 18 months in relation to a Rs 4.8-crore money laundering case lodged by the ED,  walked out of Tihar jail on October 18.

10. Patel Nagar: Pravesh Ratan Vs Raaj Kumar Anand

The Patel Nagar Constituency, on which AAP has a strong hold since the 2013 elections, is drawing attention this year as both AAP and BJP fielded turncoats from each other.

While Raaj Kumar Anand who won the last election for the AAP, will be fighting again this year, but from the BJP side, Pravesh Ratan, who fought him from the BJP's side in the 2020 elections, will face him as the AAP candidate this election.

This unique battle will be a point of observation to see if this time round the voters take the side of the candidate who they made win last time, or rather the party they made win.
