Lisa Mishra is an American singer, songwriter, and actress of Indian origin. Born in Berhampur, Odisha, India, and raised in Chicago, she has successfully carved a niche for herself in both the Indian and international music scenes. She pursued higher education at Illinois Wesleyan University, graduating with a double major in economics and religion, demonstrating a diverse background before pursuing a full time music career. Lisa also has a research background, having worked with both the Andrew Mellon Foundation and the Pluralism Project at Harvard University. Her musical journey began with the launch of her YouTube channel at the age of 13, and her first studio experience was lending vocals on Chance the Rapper's Grammy-winning mixtape "Coloring Book." She also contributed as a songwriter and vocalist on other tracks by Chance the Rapper and DJ Khaled.
