Biography:
Michael David Rosenberg, known professionally as Passenger, is an English singer-songwriter and musician celebrated for his distinctive indie folk style. Born in Brighton & Hove, East Sussex, to a Quaker mother and an American Jewish father, Rosenberg's passion for music ignited early. He began learning classical guitar and writing songs around the age of 14 and left school at 16 to pursue a career in music, initially busking in the streets of England and Australia.
From 2003 to 2009, Rosenberg was the lead vocalist and songwriter for the band also named Passenger. The band released one album, Wicked Man's Rest, before disbanding. Following the split, Rosenberg continued to use the name "Passenger" for his solo work. His career experienced a major turning point with the release of "Let Her Go" in 2012. The song achieved international success, topping charts in 16 countries and accumulating over 3.6 billion views on YouTube, becoming the most-viewed Australian YouTube video ever. Since then, Rosenberg has become a prolific solo artist, releasing 13 studio albums to date and touring extensively around the world.
