Kim Taehyung, known professionally as V, was born on December 30, 1995, in Daegu, South Korea. He spent his early years in Geochang County, raised by his grandmother. V's interest in music developed during his childhood, leading him to take saxophone lessons in middle school. His path to the entertainment industry began when he accompanied a friend to an audition at Big Hit Entertainment, where he unexpectedly received an offer to audition himself. He subsequently joined the agency as a trainee in 2011. After a period of training, V debuted in 2013 as a vocalist for the South Korean boy group BTS.
