A Student From Heritage Institute Of Technology Secured All India Rank 1 In GATE Exam 2025

This year nearly 17078 students appeared for GATEexamination in Biotechnology, and it is a matter of pride not only for the Institute but also for the State of West Bengal from where Arnab secured #1 rank nationally.

A 4th year B.Tech-Biotechnology Engineering student, Arnab Paul from Heritage Institute of Technology secured All India Rank 1 in Graduate Aptitude Test (GATE) 2025 in the category of Biotechnology.

This year, nearly 17,078 students appeared for the GATE examination in Biotechnology, and this achievement is significant for both the Institute and the State of West Bengal, from where Arnab secured the #1 rank nationally.

"A very hardworking and confident student, Arnab had secured laurels for the Institute. In 2019, Sayantika Ghosh also secured All India rank 1 in GATE," said Prof. Riddhi Goswami, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Heritage Institute of Technology.

"I wish all the best to Arnab for the future endeavours," said Prof. Basab Chaudhuri, Principal, Heritage Institute of Technology.

"In Biotechnology, we guide the students a lot for GATE examinations and also help them to crack summer research fellowship programmes at Indian Academy of Sciences," said Prof. Srabanti Basu, Head of the Department, Department of Biotechnology.

"Apart from regular studies, continuous mentoring from the faculty members has helped me a lot. The foundation in Biotechnology was very much concrete and Heritage had given me the right platform," said Arnab.

"The Department of Biotechnology of our Institute since inception has created rank holders not only for GATE but also for various other competitive examinations. The alumni members of the Department had played an active role in manufacturing Covid -19 vaccine Covishield and also in NASA Mars Mission," said Mr. P.K.Agarwal, CEO, Heritage group of Institutions, Kolkata.
