"I remember observing my grandfather at home and seeing how overwhelmed he was with managing his Type-2 diabetes," Eesha recalls. "I knew there had to be a better way." In 2022, she joined the product management team at Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC), where she leads the development of smart digital tools integrating data to assist healthcare professionals in making confident, data-driven decisions. Within her first year, she spearheaded two pivotal initiatives in collaboration with leading AID manufacturing companies.
“Imagine having a device that constantly monitors your blood sugar and adjusts your insulin automatically, giving you better control and peace of mind,” says Eesha, elaborating on her experience working with diabetes tech. “This is what an Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) system does by combining an insulin pump with a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM). The CGM checks your glucose levels every few minutes and sends this data to the insulin pump. The pump then delivers insulin based on this data, increasing or decreasing the amount as needed.”
Prior to her tenure at ADC, Ambike played a key role as director of technical product management at BrightInsight Inc., a rapidly growing digital health startup in San Jose, CA. During its early days, she led a crucial project for patients suffering from respiratory conditions in collaboration with a leading pharma company, focusing on enhancing chronic disease management through digital solutions.
