Russia-Ukraine War: Where It Stands Now

Over the first weekend of March, European and other western leaders came together at a summit in London to reiterate their support for Ukraine in its war with Russia. After the summit the UK and France are set to come up with a peace plan, which they said they would discuss with the US.

The warmth with with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was greeted at the summit --with a hug from UK Premier Keir Starmer and warm smile from King Charles--stood in stark contrast with his reception at the White House the previous week.

Heads of the governments don’t generally wrangle when they meet, at least not in front of the cameras. But Friday라이브 바카라 meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Zelenskyy was anything but. As the two leaders interrupted each other during the exchange, Trump fired off a series of blunt remarks to Zelenskyy—'You don’t have the cards right now'; 'You’re in no position to dictate what we’re going to feel'; 'You’re gambling with World War III'; 'What you’re doing is very disrespectful to this country'; and the like. U.S. Vice President JD Vance, also present, demanded that Zelensky show more gratitude for years of U.S. support.

Following the exchange, Zelenskyy was reportedly asked to leave the White House, and a planned press conference between the two leaders was cancelled.

This comes as Trump has repeatedly voiced frustration over the scale of U.S. military aid to Ukraine, and has said he wants European countries to spend more on security assistance to Ukraine. The key issue now is whether Trump will move to curtail U.S. weapons shipments to Ukraine. While he previously suggested in December that he might scale down military aid upon taking office, that is yet to happen. Since January 2022, Ukraine has received approximately $407 billion in aid, with the U.S. alone providing over $118 billion.

As Russia라이브 바카라 invasion of Ukraine enters its third year, Ukraine appears to be losing. According to , more than 40,000 civilians have been killed or injured in Ukraine during the conflict. Among the confirmed deaths, at least 6,203 were adult men and 669 were children.

Military losses are harder to verify, as both Russia and Ukraine tightly control information and often release figures that differ widely from independent assessments. Estimates suggest that more than 800,000 Russian soldiers have been killed or severely wounded, making this one of Russia라이브 바카라 deadliest conflicts since World War II.

The war has also displaced millions. Millions of Ukrainians have fled their homes, either to other parts of Ukraine or other countries. In other parts of eastern Ukraine, Russian troops are advancing slowly and making small territorial gains.
