Australia라이브 바카라 ruling Labor Party on Monday has promised to spike the student visa fees from A$1600 to A$2000 upon reelection. The move is projected to generate A$760 million over the next four years while targeting the education sector that is a major source of immigration for the nation.

Addressing a press conference, Australia라이브 바카라 Finance minister Katy Gallagher said that, "We think that's a sensible measure that really prizes, I think, the value of studying here in Australia." The fee had already witnessed a significant increase last year going from A$710 to A$1600.

The conservative opposition of Australia had previously promised to set a benchmark of having A$2500 as the minimum visa fee. In addition, a A$5000 visa fee had been proposed for students applying to the top institutes of the nation known as the Group of Eight.

The competing proposals have been promised to mitigate the concerns of rising housing costs due to excess immigration.

The ruling party has also proposed to cap the influx of international students at 2,70,000 per year in 2025 in comparison to the opposition라이브 바카라 figure of 2,40,000.

In a similar move last year, the government of Prime Minister Anthony Albanese had attempted to set a limit on the arrival of international students in the country but failed in getting the legislation passed. According to statistics, Australia witnessed a 12.1 percent increase in immigration of students in comparison to the previous year.

According to reports from 2023, India is the second largest contributor of international students in Australia amounting to 16 percent of the total share. With a recent decline in student immigration to Canada, Australia was another location that was on the priority list for Indian students. However, a rise in visa costs could pose restrictions for Indian students immigrating to the nation for further studies.
