An earthquake of 5.7 magnitude on the Richter scale hit the Afghanistan-Tajikistan Border Region on Saturday morning, the Helmholtz Centre for Geosciences confirmed. There has been no reports of damage or loss of life so far.
According to GFZ, the epicentre is 71.28°E 36.22°N and it took place at 6:47 am (UTC) with the depth of 96 km.

Reports have suggested that the tremors of the earthquake were felt in parts of India including Jammu and Kashmir and Delhi NCR. Pakistan was also jolted by the earthquake on Saturday.
Tremors were felt across a wide region of Pakistan, including Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and various parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The strongest tremors were reported from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's Lower Dir, Bajaur, Malakand, Nowshera, Dir Bala, Shabqadar, and Mohmand regions, causing widespread panic among residents.
So far, there have been no reports of casualties or structural damage.
This was the second quake in a week after a 5.5 intensity tremor shook Pakistan라이브 바카라 capital and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab provinces last Saturday.
Pakistan is frequently visited by earthquakes of varying intensity. The deadliest hit the nation in 2005, killing more than 74,000 people.
