The Mexican president has claimed that this decision applies only to the US portion of the Gulf while asserting that the US lacks authority to change the name of the entire area.
Sheinbaum had earlier sent a letter to Google urging them to retract the name change for US users while also threatening legal action in the following month.
Google had responded to her request stating that it followed its long standing practice pertaining to name changes. The technology giant said that it makes changes to names when updates by official government sources.
When the bill was proposed in the House, it was opposed by every democrat making it difficult to get the senate라이브 바카라 assent. Even if the bill is passed, countries are not under obligation to recognize the change.
