Russia launched a devastating attack on Ukraine for a second night Saturday after the United States stopped sharing satellite images with the Ukranian government, officials said. At least 22 people have been killed and many injured, AP confirmed.
The US decision to freeze intelligence and military aid comes after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the White House last week as President Donald Trump tries to pressure Ukraine to accept a peace deal with Russia.
According to the Associated Press, without US satellite images, Ukraine's ability to attack inside Russia and protect itself from bombing would be significantly reduced.
After the latest Russian strikes, Polish PM Donald Tusk said, "This is what happens when someone appeases barbarians. More bombs, more aggression, more victims."
Multiple attacks in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region killed at least 11 people on Friday. Another seven people died in four nearby towns where Russian troops are advancing. Additionally, a Russian drone struck a civilian workshop in the Kharkiv region, killing three people. One more person died due to shelling in the same region.
Writing on the microblogging website X, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemns attack and said it was brutal.
He said, "Today, all day long, work continued in the city of Dobropillya, the Donetsk region, following a Russian strike. It was one of the most brutal attacks, a combined strike carefully planned to cause maximum damage. Missiles, along with Shahed drones, targeted the central part of the city. Nine residential buildings, a shopping center, and stores were hit."
"...It라이브 바카라 important that we continue to coordinate all our efforts with our partners, ensuring effective defence and doing everything possible to bring peace closer," he added
Filashkin declared a day of mourning Saturday and warned that more victims could still be found in the rubble.
Russia fired two ballistic missiles into the center of the front-line town of Dobropillya, then launched a strike targeting rescuers who responded, according to Zelenskyy. Forty-seven people, including seven children, were injured in the attack.
"It is a vile and inhumane intimidation tactic to which the Russians often resort," he said.
Just 24 hours before the attacks, Russia hit Ukrainian energy facilities with dozens of missiles and drones, hobbling its ability to deliver heat and light to its citizens and to power weapons factories vital to its defences.
