A business venture closely linked to Prince Andrew was overseen for two years by a company controlled by controversial businessman Doug Barrowman, according to a report by the BBC.
Following the prince라이브 바카라 widely criticized Newsnight interview in 2019, ownership of his start-up competition, Pitch@Palace Global, was transferred to Knox House Trustees (UK)—a company connected to Barrowman. The initiative, inspired by Dragon라이브 바카라 Den, was intended to support entrepreneurs.
Doug Barrowman and his wife, Baroness Michelle Mone, a lingerie entrepreneur, have faced intense scrutiny after Mone admitted they had misled the public about their involvement with PPE Medpro—a company awarded substantial government contracts during the Covid-19 pandemic, based on her recommendation to ministers.
Despite the connection, a lawyer for Barrowman stated that he "at no time... had any business or personal involvement with the duke."
While Pitch@Palace Global remained under Prince Andrew라이브 바카라 control, in keeping with royal protocol, it was held by nominee entities—third parties who act on behalf of the actual owner. Official filings at Companies House show that Knox House Trustees (UK), owned and controlled by Barrowman until 2023, held nominee ownership starting in 2021.
Prince Andrew라이브 바카라 financial affairs have come under growing scrutiny, especially following his financial separation from King Charles, raising questions about how he funds his lifestyle, including his residence at Royal Lodge in Windsor.
The prince has a history of controversial associations. In late 2023, he revealed he had cut ties with Yang Tengbo, the head of Pitch@Palace라이브 바카라 operations in China, after the UK government warned of potential espionage concerns. Yang has denied any involvement in espionage or illegal activity.
Barrowman, too, has been a magnet for controversy. In 2017, HMRC began investigating his firm AML Tax (UK), which was accused of aggressively marketing tax avoidance schemes. The company was fined £150,000 in 2022.
In January 2022, The Guardian first revealed Barrowman and Baroness Mone라이브 바카라 links to PPE Medpro. They initially denied any connection, but in a December 2023 BBC interview, Mone admitted they had lied.
The National Crime Agency is now investigating alleged criminal activity involving the company. Both Barrowman and Mone deny any wrongdoing.
Historian Andrew Lownie, who is writing a biography of Prince Andrew, commented: “Andrew has a long history of associating with dubious business figures and hiding his business dealings behind nominee arrangements and offshore accounts. There should be a thorough investigation into his finances.”
