As United States’ President Donald Trump closes 100 days in office, his approval rating is historically low.
According to Gallup, the first quarter of Trump라이브 바카라 second term has an average 45% job approval rating, which even though are slightly higher than his first term, still remains below all other post-World War II presidents elected in the U.S.
The average first-quarter rating for all presidents elected from 1952 to 2020 is 60%.
The plummeting approval rating could be because of his overarching changes Trump has initiated.
His unprecedented tariff wars have brought world economies to crash. He has attempted to alter administration and curriculum of Ivy-league universities. Students across universities have received revocation of their visas via email over minor crimes. He has backed Russia라이브 바카라 expansionist claim into Ukraine and ridiculed NATO on his way. Furthering his own cause, he has made offers to buy Greenland, and declared Canada U.S.’ 51st state.
In his deportation drive, The White House has reportedly deported 65,700 immigrants so far.
According to a New York Post report, at least 4,000 student visas have also been revoked ever since January.
During his celebratory speech that he delivered in Michigan yesterday, he broadcasted a video of deportees being expelled from the US and transferred to a mega-prison in El Salvador.
Trump declared April 2 as ‘Liberation Day’, elevating the US from its trade deficit, the largest than any other country in 2023. The US imports then were worth $1.1 trillion more than its exports, Al Jazeera reported.
“For decades, our country has been looted, pillaged, raped and plundered by nations near and far, both friend and foe alike,” he said.
He has consistently maintained the stance that countries abuse the United States’ low tariff rates, which hurts the domestic economy.
As one of his first executive orders issued by the president, he reviewed all existing trade deals. He hinted at a "universal tariff" policy during his inaugural address.
Two months later, he imposed a 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico. One more month in, he doubled down to 10% on all imports; further escalating to almost 50% on products from 57 countries, in exchange with important countries like China, South Korea, Germany and India. But also countries recovering from debt, earthquakes and civil war - like Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Myanmar and Syria.
These countries reciprocated with retaliatory tariffs, with China라이브 바카라 retaliation going as far up to 125%, on American agricultural and industrial goods.
Amid economists, businessmen and critics insisting Trump to slow down, the Republican administration initiated a 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs for most countries, except for China.
Post market volatility, the countries have gotten their foot in for trade negotiations.
“Harvard is a JOKE, teaches Hate and Stupidity, and should no longer receive Federal Funds,” the President said earlier this month amid freezing $2 billion in funds and $60 million in contracts.
The Trump administration has deployed federal departments at their disposal to change things in the Ivy League universities like Columbia, Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, Brown and Yale.
The universities have received suspension of federal grants for denying to comply with the unruly demands of the administration.
Claims of antisemitism have been laid against the universities for allowing students to hold Pro-Palestine protests on campus last year. While Columbia complied, Harvard President Alan Garber asserted that "the University will not surrender its independence or relinquish its constitutional rights," while Trump threatened to take away Harvard라이브 바카라 tax exemption status.
The Department of Homeland Security also threatened Harvard that it will lose its ability to take foreign students’ admissions if by April 30 the administration does not provide records on its international student visa holders' "illegal and violent" activities, “declaring it unfit to be entrusted with taxpayer dollars.”
On his very first day back, Trump pushed his aggressive ‘America First’ policy, introducing a 90-day pause. His order suspended 5,300 grants in the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID). Furthermore, the department, USAID, was itself dissolved.
This has had global humanitarian impact and stability, across developing and underdeveloped nations suffering from sudden cessation of funding. Experts have criticized the move, with the U.S. Oxfam America joining other groups challenging the Trump administration.
In an invalid attempt to bring peace and discuss a mineral deal, Trump and Vice-President J.D. Vance rebuked advances of peace talk between Russia and Ukraine when the latter's President Volodymyr Oleksandrovych Zelenskyy visited the White House in February. The duo insisted Ukraine be more grateful for its intervention in assisting a peace talk.
The negotiations for the mineral deal included critical and rare-earth elements, oil, and gas.
In Gaza, an effort to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Hamaz, was led by the U.S., Qatar and Egypt . It included a six-week ceasefire, release of hostages and withdrawal of Israeli forces.
The breakthrough happened in January this year. However, the ceasefire has failed since.
