“I’m a 'never Trump' guy. I never liked him.”
Vice President J D Vance very carefully and meticulously carved his way into being Trump라이브 바카라 protégé
“I’m a 'never Trump' guy. I never liked him.”
“I find him reprehensible.”
“My god what an idiot.”
These are a few quotes from 2016 of US Vice President J D Vance, who now swoons over his boss Donald Trump and has become a vocal supporter of Trump's aggressive ‘America First’ policies.
After he deleted his anti-Trump tweets, he said on Fox News in 2021: “And I ask folks not to judge me based on what I said in 2016, because I’ve been very open about the fact that I did say those critical things and I regret them, and I regret being wrong about the guy.”
The 49th VP of the United States is set to arrive in India, his wife라이브 바카라 ancestral country, on April 21 for an official visit.
Vance's career trajectory has been a curious one: he has been in the U.S. Marine Corps, a bestselling author, and a politician. Whatever the route, he has never been irrelevant.
He has now very carefully and meticulously carved his way into being Trump라이브 바카라 protégé, and a rising Presidential contender in what is arguably the most powerful nation in the world.
In his bestselling book Hillbilly Elegy, the VP paints a picture of his early years spent in poverty. Born James Donald Bowman and raised in Middletown, Ohio, by his grandparents in lieu of his absent father and alcoholic mother, JD Vance--along with his wife Usha--adopted his grandfather라이브 바카라 last name after marriage in an act of tribute.
His book reflects on Ohio라이브 바카라 white working class during his formative years-- their struggles and reliance on government welfare programs. Hillbilly Elegy was a hit, thrusting J.D. Vance into public discourse as a sought-after commentator.
After finishing school, JD Vance joined the US Marines as a military journalist from 2003 till 2007, including a six month deployment to Iraq. He came back and joined Ohio State University and later Yale law school, where he met his now wife Usha Chilukur.
After graduating, he moved to the world of venture capitalism working for his mentor, tech billionaire Peter Thiel, who would later pave the way for his political journey.
His views paved the way for him to become a public speaker, particularly critical of Donald Trump and, by extension, the Republican Party.
“I think this election is really having a negative effect especially on the white working class," he said in October 2016, BBC reported.
"What it라이브 바카라 doing is giving people an excuse to point the finger at someone else, point the finger at Mexican immigrants, or Chinese trade or the Democratic elites or whatever else.”
However, these opinions are definitely behind him.
Now, he marches to the beat of everything Trump.
By 2020, JD Vance had established himself as a writer and a public orator-- however, still a Trump skeptic.
But he rose to the occasion when Ohio라이브 바카라 Republican Senator Rob Portman decided against running for re-election in 2022. He metamorphosed into a loyalist, underplaying the seriousness of the 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol by Trump's supporters. His new-found loyalty earned him Trump's endorsement and eventually a seat in the Senate, securing approximately 53% of the vote.
JD Vance--who once called Trump ‘America's Hitler’--said that his support for Trump was not an immediate pivot but a slow realisation that Trump has the fix for American problems, Reuters reported. Both are of the view that the U.S. is over-involved in foreign wars.
"I allowed myself to focus so much on the stylistic element of Trump that I completely ignored the way in which he substantively was offering something very different on foreign policy, on trade, on immigration," the VP told the New York Times last year.
The two became aligned in thoughts and quotes. The VP, during his 2022 campaign, said that the U.S. is now run by "a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they've made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too,” later saying that his comment was “dumb” and that, "our country has become almost pathologically anti-child".
His baptism-by-fire campaign that kickstarted his transformation into a full-throated Trump supporter is complete.
Recently, JD Vance said the 2020 Presidential election in which Donald Trump lost to former President Joe Biden was rigged. “Did Donald Trump lose the election? Not by the words that I would use,” he said.
His views on abortion policy, much contested in the U.S., have also changed from once expressing a nationwide abortion ban after 15 weeks of pregnancy to now suggesting that the decision lies with individual states--backing Trump, according to BBC.
His similar views on economic populism, nativist policies and trailblazing ‘Make America Great Again’ efforts made him best-suited to be chosen as the Vice President in the latest election, an initiation he accepted whole-heartedly.
He was unable to do much as a Senator since the Democrats dominated the Congress during his stint; but now as the VP--the youngest U.S. has ever seen--JD Vance seems to have big plans.
He has quickly taken to the role, often seen hovering around Trump as his right-hand man, dressed in the same blue suit and red tie popularized by Trump.
JD Vance라이브 바카라 emphatic--almost reverent--loyalty to his boss was on full display during President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy라이브 바카라 visit to the White House to discuss a Russia-Ukraine ceasefire. The moment felt especially ironic, given that both Trump and Vance have long opposed American involvement in foreign wars
"Have you said thank you once?" the VP yelled at Zelenskyy in a televised negotiation.
The photograph of J.D. Vance and Usha Vance dressed in traditional Indian attire and religious garlands regularly resurfaces online. However, allegations of racism have continued to follow him.
When Marko Elez라이브 바카라 tweet, “Normalize Indian Hate”, resurfaced earlier this year, it raised safety concerns for Indian-Americans in the U.S.
Elez is a Department of Government Efficiency employee, a department headed by billionaire and Trump-supporter Elon Musk.
Musk, with support from the Vice President, reinstated Elez following a public poll on X.
“Racist trolls on the internet, while offensive, don't threaten my kids. You know what does? A culture that denies grace to people who make mistakes. A culture that encourages congressmen to act like whiny children,” he later responded to Congressman Ro Khanna on X when asked about his decision to rehire Elez, controversially brushing aside both the safety of Indian-Americans and the shared roots of his own wife.
Two months have passed since this uproar. The VP is set to arrive in India for his first official visit. He will be visiting New Delhi, Jaipur and Agra - both for business and leisure.
Furthermore, JD Vance라이브 바카라 visit to India comes at a strategically crucial time since the two countries are tied in multifaceted rows - from tariffs to student visas to deportation of Indians illegally residing in the U.S.
Since stepping into office in January, President Trump has reshaped departments and diplomacy alike - with JD Vance standing firm at his side, unshaken. His official visit to India consisting of diplomatic talks and discussions has raised hope for Indians both at home and in the U.S.
