Bihar: Man Shoots Girl, Father Before Killing Himself At Ara Railway Station; Police Says Personal Dispute

The SP of Bhojpur said an investigation has been started, and forensic experts have collected evidence from the spot.

The murder of a father and daughter duo and a suicide took place in Bihar's Ara railway station in Bhojpur district on Tuesday and the police suspect personal dispute behind the killing.

The gunman was identified as Aman Kumar, shot the two people whom he reportedly knew from before and then proceeded to shoot himself right at the spot of the crime.

The SP of Bhojpur said an investigation has been started, and forensic experts have collected evidence from the spot.

What Did Police Say?

According to the police, the incident happened on the footbridge, connecting platforms 2 and 3.

Bhojpur district's Superintendent of Police Raj told PTI, "He first shot the girl and then her father before shooting himself dead. All three died on the spot."

"The motive is yet to be known. However, the love angle can not be ruled out," he added.

ASP Parichay Kumar told ANI, "On the overbridge between platforms 3 and 4 of Ara Railway Station, three people have died of gunshot wounds. According to the eyewitness, a man aged 23-24 years, shot at a girl aged 16-17 years and her father. He later shot himself... Due investigation will follow."

The SP said an investigation has been started, and forensic experts have collected evidence from the spot.

It was learnt that the girl had come to the station to board a train to Delhi.

On the other hand, an report in The New Indian Express suggested that the girl had turned down the gunman's proposal earlier when she visited her ancestral village of Asni in Bhojpur.

The girl lived with her parents and a sibling in Delhi and the father-daughter duo were reportedly headed there at the time of the incident.

TNIE quoted an investigating officer who said, "She was fed up with Aman라이브 바카라 advances and had also rebuked him."

Additional Superintendent of police (ASP), Ara, Parichay Kumar has reportedly confirmed that the motive was related to a broken love affair.

“Further investigation is underway. The bodies have been handed over to respective families after postmortem,” he added.

RPF senior commandant Prakash Panda has informed the media that the murder weapon has been seized and the authorities are checking the security footage at the railway station. "We have asked the authorities concerned to enhance the number of CCTV on the railway overbridge, " he added.
