BPSC Exam Row: Prashant Kishor Sent To Jail After Refusal To Sign Bail Bond

As per police officials, Kishor and around 43 of his supporters were arrested as the protest took place in a restricted area. His arrest comes after several notices from the Patna District Magistrate were ignored.

Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has been sent to jail after his arrest. As per the latest reports, the Bihar leader has been sent to jail after he refused to sign a bail bond.

Kishor, who was on hunger strike, was arrested at Patna's Gandhi Maidan. The poll strategist is demanding the cancellation of the Bihar Public Service Commission exam.

As per police officials, Kishor and around 43 of his supporters were arrested as the protest took place in a restricted area. His arrest comes after several notices from the Patna District Magistrate were ignored.

Officials added that the notices called on Kishor and its followers to relocate their demonstration to Gardani Bagh.

Kishor has alleged that he was manhandled by the police at the time of his arrest. Police officials, however, have denied these claims.

Students and aspirants who appeared for the Bihar Public Service Commission exam have alleged foul play and a paper leak. The state commission conducted a retest on January 4, 2025, for selected the candidates that were affected by the alleged paper leak.

However, candidates, joined by politicians, have now demanded a cancellation of the exam.

The BPSC exam row has also reached the Supreme Court. Candidates have filed a plea before the apex court, seeking its intervention and the cancellation of the exam. The petition filed before the court stated that "rigging" was involved in the conduction of the 70th BPSC exam and it should be cancelled and conducted again.
