Centre To Hold All-Party Meeting To Brief On 'Operation Sindoor'

The Bharatiya Janata Party will hold an all-party meet today at 11:00 AM to brief political leaders on India's 'Operation Sindoor', during which the Indian Armed Forces attacked terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir in the early hours of Wednesday.

"Govt has called an All Party leaders meeting at 11 am on 8th May, 2025 at Committee Room: G-074, in the Parliament Library Building, Parliament Complex in New Delhi," Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju posted on X.

India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is likely to briefing all parties. The meeting will be attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, according to media reports.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that Congress' Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, respectively, will be attending the all-party meet, ANI reported.

He continued to say that Congress asked for an all-party meet immediately after the Pahalgam attack and expected the Prime Minister to attend, "but for some reason, he couldn't."

About today's meeting, Ramesh said, "we expect the Prime Minister to chair the meeting... This is the time for unity and solidarity... Operation Sindoor has attacked terrorist camps in Pakistan, and we applaud the armed forces for this operation. This is an unprecedented operation... As a gesture of unity and solidarity, the INC is pausing all its political programs and rallies... We have postponed all our events..."
