Chhattisgarh: Trailer-Truck Collision Kills 13 In Raipur, 12 Injured

The road accident killed four children and nine women that happened late Sunday night near Saragaon on Raipur-Balodabazar road in Raipur district.

In a tragic incident, at least thirteen people, all women and children, died while 12 others were injured in a collision between a trailer truck and a truck in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, police said.

According to PTI, the road accident killed four children and nine women that happened late Sunday night near Saragaon on Raipur-Balodabazar road in Raipur district.

It has been reported that upon getting information about the accident, a police team was promptly sent to the spot and the injured were taken to Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Hospital in Raipur.

After preliminary investigation, police officials revealed that a family from Chataud village had gone to Bansari village to attend a family function. On their way back home, the truck they were travelling in collided with a trailer near Saragaon under the Kharora police station area.

Raipur district collector Gaurav Singh said district administration officials also reached the spot. Thirteen people died and 11 people were injured in the accident, he said.

"We received information about collision between a Swaraj Mazda and trailer. As soon as we received the information, people from the administration reached the spot and provided first aid to those injured. Sadly, 13 people were killed in the accident", Singh told PTI.

Police registered a case and the matter is being investigated, the collector said.
