A day after Indian armed forces carried out Operation Sindoor, the Centre conducted an all-party meeting on Thursday. During this meeting, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who chaired the meeting, stated that at least 100 terrorists were killed during the military operations.
The meeting was attended by leaders such Home Minister Amit Shah, EAM S Jaishankar, Health Minister and BJP President JP Nadda, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju.
Opposition leaders such as Congress’ Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Trinamool Congress’ Sandip Bandyopadhyay and DMK라이브 바카라 TR Baalu were also present for the meeting.
Citing sources, news agency PTI reported that Rajnath Singh stated around 100 terrorists were killed in Indian strikes during Operation Sindoor. He further added that if Pakistan retaliates, India will strike back.
Rajnath Singh further added that the opposition was briefed about India's military readiness in case of retaliatory action by Pakistan.
After the meeting concluded, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge stated that the Congress party stands with the government on Operation Sindoor. As per news agency PTI, the Congress national president said that the party will stand with the government in this "moment of crisis."
Parliamentary Affairs minister Kiren Rijiju stated all "political leaders showed maturity and did not indulge in bickering as the meeting was for broad political consensus."
On May 6-7, 2025, the Indian Armed Forces carried out Operation Sindoor which targeted nine terror camps across 21 locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. As per the briefing by the Ministry of External Affairs on May 7, the military strikes focused on terror camps, which included the headquarters of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizbul Mujahadeen.
