Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi CM Atishi on Thursday slammed Delhi's new BJP-led government over PM Modi's 'false promises' as newly appointed chief minister Rekha Gupta-led cabinet in its first meeting did not pass the proposal to provide Delhi women with financial assistance of rupees 2,500 per month.

AAP leader and former Delhi CM Atishi's remarks came as the first meeting of the newly appointed CM Rekha Gupta-led Delhi cabinet failed to pass the agenda to provide financial assistance of rupees 2,500 per month, which was one of the pre-poll promises from the saffron party for Delhi's women.
Atishi's remarks came soon after first-time BJP MLA Rekha Gupta on Thursday took charge as the ninth chief minister of Delhi, and asserted that every commitment made to the people by her party will be fulfilled by the new government.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday, Atishi congratulated Gupta while highlighting the BJP-led government's failure to stick to their ambitious pre-poll promises.
"Modi ji had promised that the plan to give ₹ 2500 per month to every woman in Delhi would be passed in the first cabinet meeting. The first cabinet meeting was held yesterday, but the ₹ 2500 scheme was not passed ", Atishi told.
"On the very first day of becoming the Chief Minister,@gupta_rekha ji showed the whole country that Modi ji's guarantee was false. Now the question is - will ₹ 2500 be deposited in the accounts of all women by March 8, or will this another guarantee by Modiji turn out to be a mere slogan?", the AAP leader further added told during the press conference.
Even the prime minister said that every woman in the capital should link her bank account to her mobile phone, so that they could get the message on March 8, the AAP MLA said.
"The new (BJP) government was formed earlier today, and its first meeting will be held in the evening. I demand the BJP government to pass the scheme (in the meeting).
"The women of Delhi are waiting for a decision to be taken on this matter so that the first installment is received on March 8 as promised. I hope the BJP and Gupta will fulfil their promise in today's Cabinet meeting," Atishi said.
'Our Government, Our Agenda': CM Rekha Gupta Hits Back
In a stern response to to Atishi's allegations, CM Rekha Gupta said, “It's our government; the agenda will be ours. Let us work. She doesn't need to tell us everything; she has done what she has to while in power.”

Gupta, a first-time MLA from Shalimar Bagh, took oath as the chief minister of Delhi on Thursday afternoon at a grand ceremony held at the Ramlila Maidan.
Soon after taking oath along with her council of ministers comprising six leaders, the chief minister went to the Delhi Secretariat where she met government officials and BJP leaders.
