Severe weather conditions show no signs of easing, with cold waves gripping Delhi, Kashmir, Jharkhand, and Rajasthan.
India is experiencing intense winter weather conditions, with significant temperature drops and cold waves gripping various regions. Delhi recorded its season라이브 바카라 second-coldest day on Thursday, while Kashmir faces plummeting temperatures amid ‘Chillai-Kalan.’ Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and other parts of the country are also witnessing chilly conditions.
While some regions are expected to experience a slight rise in temperatures in the coming days, others will continue to battle the icy conditions of the season.

Delhi's coldest day this season
Delhi experienced a significant temperature drop on Thursday, marking its second-coldest day of the season. The minimum temperature recorded at the Safdarjung weather station was 4.8°C, 2.1 degrees lower than the season라이브 바카라 normal. The Palam station reported a slightly higher minimum of 6.5°C, 0.5 degrees above normal. The city라이브 바카라 maximum temperature is expected to hover around 21°C.
Despite the intense cold, the fog that had blanketed the city cleared, with visibility improving to 1,100 meters at the Indira Gandhi International Airport.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast “very dense” fog for January 10, with temperatures expected to range between 6°C (min) and 21°C (max). The city's air quality, however, remained in the “very poor” category, with AQI readings in several areas surpassing the dangerous 300 mark.
Kashmir shivers in ‘Chillai-Kalan’
Kashmir is in the grip of its harshest winter phase, ‘Chillai-Kalan,’ which is expected to last until January 30. As temperatures continue to plummet across the Valley, most regions recorded sub-zero minimum temperatures. Pahalgam, known for its freezing winters, recorded the lowest temperature at minus 10.4°C. Srinagar's temperature dropped significantly from 1°C to a chilling minus 4.4°C.
Clear skies and sunshine during the day have caused the temperatures to dip even further. The IMD has forecast mainly dry weather for the next two days, with light rain or snow possible at isolated locations on Saturday. The cold wave is expected to persist, with further temperature drops likely.
‘Chillai-Kalan’, the 40-day period of extreme cold started on December 21 and will end on January 30. It is followed by a 20-day ‘Chillai-Khurd’ (small cold), and a 10-day ‘Chillai-Bachha’ (baby cold).
Part of Jharkhand records the lowest temperature at 6.5°C
Cold conditions have intensified in Jharkhand, with Latehar recording the lowest temperature of 6.5°C on Wednesday. Other districts like Khunti (7.2°C), Ranchi (8.8°C), and several others have also seen a drop in temperatures. According to the Ranchi Meteorological Centre, the cold wave is expected to continue until January 10. However, a western disturbance is likely to bring some relief, with temperatures expected to rise by 2-3°C starting January 11.
“There was a prediction of minimum temperature falling between two to four degrees Celsius from this morning, as the sky became clear,” Abhishek Anand, In-charge of Ranchi Meteorological Centre said. From January 11 onwards, minimum temperature is expected to rise again due to western disturbance in northwest parts of the country.
“The mercury may rise by two to three degrees Celsius from February 11 and minimum temperature may again go above 10 degrees Celsius in the state,” Anand added.
Rajasthan's Fatehpur shivers at 1.1°C
Parts of Rajasthan are also experiencing harsh winter conditions, with Fatehpur in Sikar district recording the lowest temperature in the state at 1.1°C. Other cities, including Nagaur, Jalore, and Churu, saw temperatures dipping below 5°C. The state's weather remains mainly dry, with cold waves expected to persist.
