Delhi has recorded a decline in some major crimes, particularly robbery and rape cases in the first three months of this year compared to the last two years.
According to Delhi Police data, crimes such as robbery, rape, molestation, and eve-teasing have decreased in the first three months of 2025, with rape cases dropping by 18.68% and robbery cases declining by 25.7% compared to the same period last year.

A total of 907 such cases were registered between January 1 and March 31, compared to 1,198 cases in the corresponding period in 2024 and 1,078 cases in 2023, according to the data provided by the Delhi police
As compared to last year (455), the number of rape cases dropped by 18.68% with 370 cases filed between January 1 and March 31. In 2023, 422 rape cases were filed during this period.
Similarly, molestation cases went down from 547 in 2023 to 370 in 2025, witnessing a 32.36 per cent decline. Eve-teasing cases came down from 98 in 2023 to 63 in 2025, a 35.7 per cent dip
Robbery, that was a common crime in the capital, showed a rise in 2024 (424 cases) from 375 in 2023 before falling sharply to 315 in 2025 — a 16 per cent drop from 2023 and a 25.7 per cent decrease from 2024
Street crimes such as Snatching cases were down by 37.71% compared to the corresponding period last year
However, 107 murder cases were reported between January 1 and March 31, a slight uptick from 105 in 2024 during the same period, but lower than 115 cases filed in 2023. Attempt to murder cases, however, followed the overall trend, going down by 17.24 % to 168 as compared to 203 in 2024.

As per Delhi police, over the past few months, they have taken several measures and adopted strategies that include amplified presence of personnel on streets, neighbourhood domination through foot and mobile patrolling, surveillance of active as well as bailed/ jailed out criminals, and action against traffickers and suppliers of illicit firearms and ammunition.
