Heatwave conditions have arrived earlier than expected in Delhi and across parts of northwest and central India. As per IMD, New Delhi is expected to hit 42 degrees Celsius.
For the national capital, a yellow alert is in place for Monday and Tuesday. As per IMD, severe heatwave conditions are expected in parts of the National Capital from Monday to Wednesday, with maximum temperatures likely reaching between 40 and 42 degrees Celsius.
Furthermore, the air quality in the city remains classified as 'poor.'
On Sunday, the Safdarjung area, which serves as Delhi라이브 바카라 official weather station, recorded a maximum temperature of 38.2°C, which is 3°C above normal.
The previous day, the maximum temperature was 35.7°C. This season's highest temperature at Safdarjung was recorded at 39°C on April 3.
Additionally, a rise in minimum temperatures is anticipated for Tuesday, with forecasts indicating a range of 21 to 23°C.
Affected states include Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. Parts of the Saurashtra, Kutch, and Gujarat belt are also likely to witness dry heatwave conditions.
A gradual rise in temperatures is predicted over central India, with no immediate relief in sight. The heatwave advisory will remain in effect from April 5 to April 10, depending on the region.
Rajasthan's Barmer and Jaisalmer hit 45.6 degrees Celsius, emerging as the hottest regions.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a heatwave is declared when the maximum temperature reaches at least 40°C and is also 4.5°C or more above the normal temperature.
Additionally, any day where the maximum temperature exceeds 45°C qualifies as a heatwave.
