Bharatiya Janata Party leader Baijayant Jay Panda's mischievous post on X account along with a selfie with Shashi Tharoor has sparked a row in a political view.

Jay Panda, who is the BJP vice president, said on Friday that they were "finally travelling in the same direction". Panda wrote on a microblogging website, X, "My friend and fellow traveller called me mischievous for saying that we seem to be finally travelling in the same direction."

In response, Shashi Tharoor said he was just a "fellow traveller" only till Bhubaneswar.

"Fellow traveller only to Bhubaneswar! I am addressing the Kalinga LitFest tomorrow morning. And coming right back!!", Tharoor posted.

Tharoor has recently attracted attention for his balanced approach towards the Congress' main rival, the BJP.

Last month, a photo of him with BJP leader and Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal went viral, fuelling speculations about his future in the Congress party. Tharoor had shared a photo with Goyal, which also included British Secretary of State for Trade Jonathan Reynolds.

"Good to exchange words with Jonathan Reynolds, Britain라이브 바카라 Secretary of State for Business and Trade, in the company of his Indian counterpart, Commerce and Industries Minister Piyush Goyal. The long-stalled FTA negotiations have been revived, which is most welcome," Tharoor tweeted.

The development comes at a time when there are rumours that Tharoor is unhappy at being sidelined in the Congress. Last month, Rahul Gandhi had a closed-door meeting with Tharoor, a four-time MP from Thiruvananthapuram, in Delhi.

Though Tharoor has denied speculation of leaving the party, the leader has said he has "other options".
