Operation Sindoor Special Media Briefing | Top Points

  • In a latest update on Operation Sindoor, Air Marshal AK Bharti, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, and Vice Admiral AN Pramod showcased evidence of the Indian Air Defence systems' effectiveness, sharing images of downed Pakistani military debris and weapons. The visuals included air-to-air missiles, long-range rockets, and loitering munitions neutralised by the Indian forces.

  • Air Marshal AK Bharti highlighted the success of India's battle-tested systems during the military briefing, stating, "Our battle-proven systems stood the test of time and take them head on. Another highlight has been the stellar performance of the indigenous air defence system, the Akash system. Putting together and operationalising the potent AD environment has been possible only because of budgetary and policy support from the government of India in the last decade."

  • DG Air Operations Air Marshal AK Bharti on propaganda and information warfare of Pakistan, says, "Why they are doing what they are doing... information not forthcoming from there. Obviously, that is expected, and they would do whatever it takes to assuage their people and minimise whatever information about the damage that comes out.

  • "Our fight is with the terrorists, our fight is not with the Pakistan military or Pakistan civilians. So, that it very clear and we are very clear in our targeting. What media or propaganda spin the other side is trying to make out a story... well, it is for them to answer. It is not really a military question for us to answer here. We have done what we are expected to do and that is it," he added.

  • Air Marshal AK Bharti stated, "It is a pity that the Pakistani military chose to intervene and that for terrorists, and hence we chose to respond".

  • "Numerous waves of drones and unmanned combat aerial vehicles employed by Pakistan were also thwarted by the indigenously developed soft and hard kill counter-UAS systems and the well-trained Indian Air Defence personnel," he added.

  • Lt General Rajiv Ghai Praises Synergy Between All Indian Armed Forces. he said, "Operation Sindoor has been prosecuted due to the synergy between the three forces, support from the government and India's citizens ."

  • "Effectively using multiple sensors and inputs, we are maintaining continuous surveillance to degrade or neutralise threats as they emerge or manifest to ensure targeting at extended ranges. All these are conducted under the umbrella of a comprehensive and effective layered fleet air defence mechanism that caters for all threats, be it drones, high-speed missiles or aircraft, both fighters as well as surveillance aircraft...," Vice Admiral AN Pramod added.

  • Responding to a media query, DG Air Operations Air Marshal AK Bharti says, "Air Marshal AK Bharti addressed a media query, stating, 'Our counter-unmanned aerial systems and Air Defence operators are fully equipped to handle drones, regardless of their origin or technology. We've demonstrated our capabilities, and we're prepared to counter any aerial threat."
