Indo-Pak Tensions: MHA Directs States To Crack Down On Anti-India Propaganda After Operation Sindoor

A day after the launch of India's terror base-targeted attack 'Operation Sindoor' against Pakistan, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Thursday reportedly directed all states to ramp up surveillance on dissemination of anti-national propaganda on social and digital platforms.

As per media reports, Centre issued the advisory for all the state governments and union territories amid the visible surge of disinformation campaign by the neighbouring nation following India라이브 바카라 retaliation after the deadly April 22 Pahalgam attack.

Reports said that the Home Ministry specifically has directed authorities to take stringent actions against accounts that are taking part in spreading of alleged fake narratives.

What Did The MHA Say?

It has been reported that the MHA directed states to block social media accounts found disseminating fake propaganda against India from anywhere in the country or abroad, as per a report by India Today.

The report also mentioned that under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the government has the power to restrict access to online content in the interest of national security or public order.

MHA also emphasised the need for close coordination between local administration, armed forces, and paramilitary units in border regions.

The union ministry has also instructed states to raise public awareness and prevent panic by countering rumours swiftly and effectively.

Amit Shah Meets CMs

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday called for urgent video conference with chief ministers, DGPs and chief secretaries of states bordering Pakistan, Nepal in view of the escalating border tension.

"In the meeting with the Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors of border states adjoining Pakistan and Nepal held today, asked the states to maintain the availability of essential goods and services and to keep relief and rescue forces like the SDRF, Civil Defence, Home Guards, and NCC on alert to handle any situation", Shah posted on X.

"Instructed to monitor and take swift action on anti-national propaganda on all media platforms and to maintain seamless communication and security at vulnerable points", he further added.

NIA Seeks Photos And Videos Of Pahalgam Terror Attack

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday urged tourists, locals, and visitors to share any information, photographs, or videos related to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

Officials said the agency has already collected a considerable amount of visual evidence and is closely analyzing it for potential leads.

As the primary investigative body in the case, the NIA is thoroughly examining all materials to identify the attackers and understand their strategy.

Authorities believe that individuals may have unknowingly captured crucial details that could help uncover the conspiracy behind the deadly assault on April 22, which left 26 tourists dead and several others injured.
