U.S. VP JD Vance, his Indian-origin wife Usha Chilukuri and their three children - Ewan, Vivek and Mirabel - visited the historical Amer Fort in Rajasthan on Tuesday. They received a warm red carpet welcome and were greeted by two elephants.
Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari welcomed them at the fort. Sharma said it was an honour to welcome JD Vance along with his family.
After his visit to the fort, JD Vance attended an event where he said that he was amazed by the ancient beauty of the architecture of India's history and by India's laser-like focus on the future.
He also said that there is pride in being Indian. He also mentioned that the U.S. and India can achieve a lot together, and that the U.S. does more military exercises with India than we do with any other nation on Earth.
"We believe that American energy can help realize India's nuclear power production goal,” he said, stressing that India-U.S. relationship is detrimental for the future of the 21st century
