Pahalgam Terror Attack: India Planning Military Action In Next 24-36 Hours, Military Generals Of Ind-Pak Discuss Ceasefire Violations

In view of the deadly Phalagam attack, which claimed 26 lives, mostly tourists, the Union Cabinet will convene a meeting today, marking its first gathering following the incident. A meeting under the chairmanship of PM Modi will be convened at 11 am, along with other senior officials.

Pakistan on Wednesday claimed it has "credible intelligence" that India is planning military action against it in the next 24-36 hours and warned New Delhi that there would be consequences.

The statement came hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday told the top defence brass that the armed forces have "complete operational freedom" to decide on the mode, targets and timing of India's response to the Pahalgam terror attack, government sources told PTI.

As Pakistan's adherence to ceasefire violation across the international border continues after the deadly Pahalgam attack, the Indian Army on Wednesday once again gave a befitting reply to their unprovoked cross-border firing for sixth night straight.

US State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce on Tuesday said that Washington is reaching out to both India and Pakistan "regarding the Kashmir situation” and telling "them not to escalate the situation."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio “expects to speak with the foreign ministers of Pakistan and India as early as today or tomorrow. He is encouraging other national leaders and foreign ministers to reach out to the countries on this issue,” Bruce said.

"So it is – again, as I’ve noted, every day action is being taken, in this case the Secretary speaking directly to his counterparts in India and Pakistan, and we’ll – we expect certainly the impact he라이브 바카라 usually had with the individuals he라이브 바카라 spoken with and certainly with President Trump라이브 바카라 leadership, India and Pakistan having those conversations. National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday voiced strong support for PM Modi amid rising tensions with Pakistan in the wake of the Pahalgam attack.

Calling for national unity and cautioning Islamabad against further provocations, Abdullah said, "We have given our full support to the prime minister. After that, we should not be questioned. The prime minister should do whatever work he necessary." "We also have nuclear power, and we had it even before them," he said.

Asserting India's stand of being non-aggressive, he said, "India has never attacked anyone first. It all started from there (Pakistan), and we responded. Even today, we will not use it (nuclear weapons) unless they do. But if they use it, we have it too. May God never let such a situation arise".

On the Congress party라이브 바카라 criticism of the Prime Minister, including posters claiming he is "missing in action", Abdullah dismissed them.

“Where is he missing? I know he is in Delhi,” he said.

Pakistani troops engaged in unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border (IB) in multiple sectors across four border districts of Jammu and Kashmir, prompting Indian forces to 'respond effectively', officials said on Wednesday.

The firing, which began with small arms, was reported from the Pargwal sector along the IB in Jammu district, and the Sunderbani and Naushera sectors in Rajouri district. This marked the sixth consecutive night of ceasefire violations by Pakistan along the LoC, amidst heightened tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad following a recent terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22.

On the opposition's demand for a special session of Parliament over the Pahalgam terror attack, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal says "We have received the letter. CCPA will have a discussion on this."

A young man from Jalna city in Maharashtra, who recently returned from Kashmir, has claimed that one of the suspected attackers in the Pahalgam terror case spoke to him a day before the carnage.

“Hindu ho kya. You don’t look like you are from Kashmir,” said Adarsh Raut, recalling his interaction with a man at a food stall in the Baisaran Valley on April 21.

Punjab's Chief Minister Office on Wednesday said that it will deploy an anti-drone system on the Pakistani border adjoining Punjab. The conspiracy to send weapons and drugs through drones coming from Pakistan will fail and anti-drone systems will be deployed to shoot down drones. With this technology, police and security agencies will now be able to immediately track and destroy the intrusion of Pakistani drones.

Amid the ongoing stand-off between India and Pakistan over the Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir, the Pakistani military, it seems, has started preparing for Indian military action, ANI said.

Sources in the country's military establishment said on Wednesday that Pakistani Navy vessels, including its frigates and submarines, have already positioned themselves in their respective harbours in the sea to be able to tackle any possible movement.

Hashim Musa, one of the prime suspects in the Pahalgam terror attack, which left 26 people dead, mostly tourists, was identified as a former Pakistani Special Service Group (SSG) Commando by investigators, as per the reports.

He joined terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) after being dismissed from the Pakistan Army, The New Indian Express reported.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Wednesday accused the BJP of politicising the Pahalgam terror attack, urging the government to focus on targeting the terrorists and Pakistan instead of blaming the opposition.

“The BJP cannot seem to decide who the real target is — the Congress, the terrorists, or Pakistan,” Ramesh told ANI. “Attacking the Congress is pointless and irresponsible at a time like this.”

Pakistan's national carrier on Wednesday cancelled all flights to and from Gilgit, Skardu and other northern areas in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir due to security reasons, local media reports said, amid rising tensions with India following the Pahalgam terror attack. Citing the flight schedule, Urdu daily Jang reported that the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) cancelled two flights each from Karachi and Lahore to Skardu.

Two flights from Islamabad to Skardu and four flights from Islamabad to Gilgit have also been cancelled, the paper said, quoting aviation sources.

Pakistan has intensified monitoring of its airspace amid heightened security concerns over tensions with India, the Express Tribune newspaper reported.

"For security reasons, all commercial flights scheduled to operate to and from Gilgit and Skardu on Wednesday have been cancelled," the paper reported.

Officials said the measures are precautionary and aimed at ensuring national airspace security during the regional tension.

Pakistani authorities have also placed all airports under high alert, significantly ramping up security and surveillance protocols, the paper added.

A wave of misinformation has flooded social media as Pakistan tries to push its propaganda online in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack. One such misinformation pertains to Lt Gen MV Suchindra Kumar, the commander of the Northern Army.

The government has found that several pro-Pakistan social media accounts have been "falsely claiming" that Lt Gen Kumar was removed from his post following the Pahalgam attack. Some reports even claimed Lt Gen Kumar was arrested or taken into custody for security lapses.

All these reports have been flagged as "false" by the Press Information Bureau's fact-checking arm.

"Several pro-Pakistan social media accounts falsely claim that Northern Commander Lt Gen Suchindra Kumar has been removed from his post after the Pahalgam incident. The claims being made in these posts are fake," said the government.

EAM S Jaishankar on X thanked Kumait's FM for extending support on Pahalgam terror attack.
