The oath taking ceremony that took place at Mumbai's Azad Maidan was attended by several dignitaries including PM Modi and chief ministers of many states.
While Devendra Fadnavis added his mother Sarita Gangadhar Rao Fadnavis' name while taking oath on Thursday, his two deputies also included the names of their mothers- Gangubai Sambhaji Shinde (Eknath Shinde's mother) and Ashatai Anantrao Pawar (Ajit Pawar's mother) while taking oath.
Putting an end to the much-awaited tension over who will be the next chief minister and deputy chief ministers of Maharashtra, BJP's Devendra Fadnavis is all set to take oath as Maharashtra Chief Minister on Thursday.
Along with him, two deputy chief ministers, including NCP leader Ajit Pawar, will also be sworn in at the ceremony at the Azad Maidan in south Mumbai in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The ceremony is scheduled for 5pm Thursday at Azad Maidan in South Mumbai.
Confusion still prevails over Eknath Shinde's decision to join as the Deputy CM of Maharashtra alongside NCP supremo Ajit Pawar on December 5.
Speaking to reporters at Raj Bhavan, CM-elect Fadnavis said on Wednesday, “I met Eknath Shinde yesterday and told him that it is the wish of both the Shiv Sena and Mahayuti members that he should be with us in this government. I have full faith that he will be with us.”
At the Raj Bhavan press conference on Wednesday, when a reporter asked Shinde if he and Ajit Pawar would be sworn in as deputy chief ministers at Azad Maidan, Shinde replied, “Let라이브 바카라 wait till evening. The oath ceremony is tomorrow.”
42,000 attendees: According to BJP leader Prasad Lad, the swearing-in ceremony will be attended by 42,000 people including PM Narendra Modi and 19 other state heads and their deputies.
Special arrangements made have been made to accommodate 40,000 BJP supporters and a separate seating arrangement made for 2,000 VVIPs, including leaders from various religions, he said.
Security beefed up: More than 4,000 police personnel have been deployed for security during the swearing-in ceremony, an official said. Besides, a platoon of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), and Quick Response Team (QRT), Riots Control Team, Delta, Combat teams and the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad have also been deployed.
Traffic wing deployed: In a bid to avoid incovenience, security arrangements have also been made to handle traffic congestion on roads leading to Azad Maidan. 280 personnel of the traffic wing, including senior police officials have been deployed to ensure smooth vehicular movement.
Amidst chants of ladkya bahinancha ladka bhau, Deva bhau Deva bhau (beloved brother of beloved sisters), in the state legislature hall, Fadnavis accepted the party라이브 바카라 mandate in the core committee meeting, led by union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman and former Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani. He was also elected as BJP라이브 바카라 Legislative Party Leader.
Police have registered a case against NCP (SP) leader Uttam Jankar and 88 others after a section of people from Markadwadi village in Solapur district and nearby areas attempted to conduct a "re-election" using ballot papers, an official said.
Prior to this, police had registered a case against more than 200 persons for allegedly defying prohibitory orders and trying to conduct the "re-election".
On Wednesday, Jankar, who won the Malshiras assembly seat in the recent Maharashtra elections, and others were charged with unlawful assembly and disobeying orders issued by a public servant, among other sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, the official said.
Markadwadi village comes under the Malshiras assembly segment.
On Tuesday morning, 250 to 300 persons gathered in the Markadwadi village to conduct a "repoll" by wilfully defying prohibitory orders and encouraging others to participate in the unauthorised polling process, the police said.
The idea of conducting "re-election" with ballot papers was floated after villagers raised doubts about the number of votes counted through EVMs from a polling booth in Markadwadi in the recently-held state elections.

Seventy-eight first-time poll winners will enter the 288-member Maharashtra assembly, comprising about 27 per cent of its strength.
Of these, 33 are from the BJP, 14 from the Shiv Sena and eight from the NCP.
While the Shiv Sena (UBT) has 10 newcomers, six such MLA-elects are from the Congress and four from the NCP (SP).

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is likely to meet Eknath Shinde before the oath-taking ceremony and discuss portfolio distribution, Indian Express reports.

Shiv Sena president Eknath Shinde would be taking oath as deputy chief minister of Maharashtra at the swearing-in ceremony here on Thursday evening, his party colleague Uday Samant announced.

Ajit Pawar - NCP
Deputy CM Ajit Pawar contested the race from Baramat, where he faced his grandnephew Yugendra. Ajit Pawar has won the Baramati constituency seven times and is currently seeking an eight term. After joining the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance and the 2023 NCP, Ajit Pawar took over Baramati from his uncle Sharad Pawar.
