As the Indian government officially confirmed Operation Sindoor, the Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Armed Forces have released the satellite images of the nine terror sites targeted across Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir.
As per the briefing led by Colonel Sofiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, the tri-service operation destroyed a total of nine terror camps run by Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.

As part of the "non-escalatory" strikes, Indian armed forces targeted Sarjal camp in Sialkot, Mehmoona Joya and Markaz Taiba, Muridke, and Markaz Subhanallah in Bahawalpur in Pakistan. In PoK, the targets included Sawai Nala and Syedna Bilal in Muzaffarabad, Gulpur and Abbas camps in Kotli, and Barnala camp in Bhimber.

A total of five terrorist sites were allegedly destroyed during Operation Sindoor. These included the Sawai Nala and Syedna Bilal in Muzaffarabad, Gulpur and Abbas camps in Kotli, and Barnala camp in Bhimber.
The Sawai Nala Camp in Muzzaffarabad is placed 30 kilometres away from the Line of Control. As per the Centre, this camp was a key training facility of Lashkar-e-Taiba. During the press briefing, it was also stated that militants trained here carried out attacks on civilians and security forces in Gulmarg and Sonmarg in 2024, and the Pahalgam attack in April.
The Syedna Belal camp was reportedly used as a staging area by JeM to carry out attacks across the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.
Gulpur camp it Kotli, also located 30 kilometres away from the LoC was allegedly the base camp for Lashkar-e-Taiba. As per MEA, terrorists carried out attacks in Poonch in 2023 and on a bus if pilgrims last year. The government further added that the 2008 Mumbai attacks mastermind Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi reportedly frequented this camp for indoctrination purposes.
The Abbas Camp in Kotli is 13 kilometres away from the LoC and was the "nerve centre" for training Lashkar's suicide bombers.
Barnala Camp in Bhimber is located nine kilometres away from the LoC and was used for supplying weapons and explosives.
A total of four camps were targeted in Pakistan including the Sarjal camp in Sialkot, Mehmoona Joya and Markaz Taiba, Muridke, and Markaz Subhanallah in Bahawalpur.
Sarjal camp in Sialkot is located six kilometres from the International Border. As per MEA, the attack which killed four policemen in March 2025 was carried out by militants from this camp.
The Mehmoona Joya near Sialkot is located 12 kilometres rom the International border is and used as a training facility by Hizbul Mujahideen. This camp was allegedly responsible for the 2016 Pathankot airbase attack.
Markaz Taiba camp in Muridke is located 25 kilometres from the border and is considered to be the headquarters of the Lashkar-e-Taiba. During the press conference, it was stated that Ajmal Kasab, the terrorist caught during the 26/11 Mumbai Attacks was trained here. David Headley was also allegedly trained here.
In Bhawanpur, the Markaz Subhan camp is located 100 kilometres away from the border and considered the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed. As per MEA, this camp was used for recruitment and training. Terrorist Masood Azhar also frequented this camp.
Operation Sindoor is an Indian military operation carried out on May 6 and 7 in response to the deadly Pahalgam attack onof April 22, 2025. In this Pahalgam attack, 26 tourists, including one Nepali citizen, were killed by terrorists.
Since this attack, which is considered the deadliest to hit the Kashmir valley since the 2019 Pulwama attacks, tensions between India and Pakistan have reached a boiling point.
