Thousands of teachers marched from Karunamoyee in Salt Lake to the West Bengal School Service Commission Bhawan on Friday, protesting their dismissal and demanding the release of Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) sheets to ensure narrowing down authentic candidates.

A group of teachers launched a hunger strike on Thursday outside the West Bengal School Service Commission (SSC) office, protesting against ongoing issues related to recruitment and employment.
BJP MP and former Calcutta High Court judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay joined the demonstration, expressing solidarity with the agitating teachers. He said that the state administration and its affiliated bodies are responsible for the teachers’ grievances.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met the teachers on Monday, saying, “I know how to fight challenges. This is not the court라이브 바카라 fault but of those who did politics with the teachers. As long as I am alive, I will not let anyone snatch the jobs of eligible candidates.”
She said that the West Bengal government will “first seek clarification from the apex court.”
West Bengal Chief Secretary Manoj Pant on Wednesday said that the state government has filed a “clarificatory petition”, requesting for suo moto.
“We have filed a petition in the Supreme Court. Where we have said that everyone should continue working. We are also going for a review petition. In this case, the legal issues are being examined. We assure again that we are with you,” Pant told the protesting teachers.
