The Supreme Court on Monday reserved its judgement on a plea by BJP leader BS Yediyurappa라이브 바카라 moving to dismiss the 2011 land denotification case, Bar and Bench reported.
A bench of Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra said that the case라이브 바카라 legal questioning was already being looked into by a larger bench in a separate case. The lawsuit involves corruption charges on former Karnataka Chief Minister Yediyurappa over denotifying government land.
The court cited a previous case order from last year in the case Shamin Khan vs Debashish Chakrabarty & Ors, where similar legal issues were delegated to a larger bench, according to Bar and Bench.
“In the interest of judicial discipline we deem it appropriate to tag these petitions with the referred matter,” the court said. Furthermore, the bench ordered the Registry to put Yediyurappa라이브 바카라 plea before the Chief Justice of India for further orders.
The corruption case dates back to 2016 when Yediyurappa was Karnataka라이브 바카라 Chief Minister. Allegations suggest that Yediyurappa illegally denotified government land in Bengaluru North Taluk, earmarked it to set up a hardware park in Huvinayakanahalli. The land was acquired by Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board (KIADB).
The cases against the nine co-accused were dropped in 2012, except for Yediyurappa and the then Industries Minister Katta Subramanya Naidu. However, the trial court dropped charges against Naidu and Yediyurappa, citing lack of evidence.
Alam Pasha - the plaintiff - stated that this denotification put the state treasury in stress, also waivering crores in service and development fees.
Pasha challenged the trial court라이브 바카라 order in the Karnataka High Court - which reversed the trial court라이브 바카라 order and directed the lower court to take cognisance of the charges against the accused and proceed with the trial.
Yediyurappa challenged this in the apex court.
Interestingly, in 2023, the Karnataka High Court revoked another case registered in 2015 against Yediyurappa that also involved allegations that he had denotified another land illegally during his tenure.
