Kalpana Raghavendar, a renowned Telugu singer, has been admitted to Holistic Hospital in Hyderabad after what is being reported as a suicide attempt. Sunitha and others from the Tollywood fraternity visited her after she was rushed to the hospital.
The singer, who is admitted in Holistic Hospital in Hyderabad, was found in her residence by her neighbours.

India Today reported on March 2 that Raghavendar was found unconscious in her home. Allegedly, she had consumed sleeping pills. Due to her non-appearance for two days, the apartment building security decided to take action and alert the other residents. The neighbours promptly called the police. Raghavendar is on a ventilator now and her condition is unstable.
The reason for her suicide attempt is unclear. The police are investigating what could have prompted it. Her husband, at the time of the incident, was in Tamil Nadu but travelled back to Hyderabad the moment he was made privy to the news.
Raghavendar's daughter, Daya Prasad, has notably denied that her mother tried to take her own life. In a contentious exchange with the media, she emphasized that her mother accidentally took a higher dose of a tablet that was provided to her by a doctor, rather than a purposeful ingestion of sleeping pills.
Raghavendar is the daughter of prolific singer TS Raghavendar, and has recorded 1500 songs in multiple languages. She has also been the judge of multiple music reality shows and was also in Big Boss Telugu's first season, which was hosted by NTR Jr. She has worked with several legendary composers, including AR Rahman.
