In an effort to revive its political standing, the Congress in Uttarakhand has begun to assertively champion minority issues, sharply criticizing the BJP-led state government라이브 바카라 campaign against allegedly illegal madrasas and mazars, calling the drive “communal and divisive.”
Senior Congress leader and former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Harish Rawat has taken a leading role in challenging the government's move to seal “unrecognised” madrasas. Rawat has questioned the administration라이브 바카라 failure to clarify how students from these institutions will be rehabilitated, an Indian Express report said.
State Congress president Karan Mahara also condemned the sealing of madrasas, claiming it is designed to “foster division between communities.” He pointed to the poor condition of public education in the state as evidence of misplaced priorities.
“The government has mandated that madrasas must have basic facilities like toilets and drinking water, but do government schools have these? Even in Dehradun, only a few schools have proper sanitation. If the government truly cared about education reform, it would start by fixing its own schools,” Mahara told The Indian Express. “This divisive campaign may bring electoral gains, but it will cause long-term harm to the nation.”
The Dhami government has so far sealed over 180 madrasas claiming they were not registered with the Madrasa Board or the Education Department.
State Congress spokesperson Garima Dasauni slammed the BJP over its oft-repeated claims of “changing demography” of the state. “Why have they not conducted a census to ascertain their claims of changing demography? If the population of Muslims has gone up, what have they done to counter it?” she asked.
As the BJP tried to link the recent Nainital case, where a 12-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 65-year-old man, to the “demographic change”, the Congress has accused it of “demonising Muslims while taking the focus off the crime” even as party workers gheraoed the CM house on Monday against rising crimes against women.
