Furthermore, a rain alert has also been issued for Jharkhand and a snowfall alert for the Jammu and Kashmir region.
Taking to X, the weather department issued red, yellow and orange warnings for the state. Here's a look at what IMD said -
Red warning - Thundersquall with wind speed 50-60 kmph along with lightning, Hail and light to moderate rain very likely to occur over these parts.
Orange warning - Thunderstorm and Lightning accompanied with gusty winds (40-50 kmph) and light to moderate rain very likely to affect over these parts.
Yellow warning - Thunderstorm with Lightning and light to moderate rainfall likely to affect over these parts.
With the winters almost coming to an end, the weather department has also issued a snowfall alert for Jammu and Kashmir as well as Himachal Pradesh.
As rain lashed parts of Jharkhand on Thursday morning, the IMD has issued a rain and hailstorm alert for a few places in the state.
On Thursday morning, the state capital Ranchi, Khunti, Simdega, East Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharswan and West Singhbhum received rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms.
With a heavy rain alert in West Bengal, IMD has warned of thunderstorms with Lightning, Hail and Gusty winds (40-60 Kmph) "upto evening hours over North Odisha, South Jharkhand and Western parts of Gangetic West Bengal today."
