Women In The 21st Century And Their Stories

For example, today, most Indians say that “women and men make equally good political leaders,” and more than one in ten feel that women generally make better political leaders than men, according to a recent Pew Research Center survey of nearly 30,000 adults throughout India. Only a quarter of Indian adults believe that men make better political leaders than women.

In another example, we have known that women who speak up are inevitably dee­med to have defied the social order. In the case of working women in the informal sector, losing a job is the most deterring factor stopping them from coming forward because the design of the informal sector, for instance, construction, is based on proprietorship.
