Awasthi admits that Subham—survived by his wife and a toddler-daughter—and Shyam Sunder Nishad were in the vehicles in the convoy, but insists that whatever happened was an accident. “The SIT is investigating the matter and I don’t want to talk much about it. However, his family claims that he died of bullets allegedly fired by Ashish Mishra. “His head had entry and exit wounds of a bullet.
