Afghanistan and India were also involved in a one-off Test match back in 2018 which the Indians won by an innings and 262 runs.
The PCA Stadium in Mohali will host the first match between the two teams on January 11. The second game will be played on January 14 at the Holkat Stadium in Indore whereas the series concludes on January 17 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.
