Ghazanfar returned figures of 5-33 as the Afghans bundled out Craig Ervine's side for just 127 runs in 30.1 overs. Chasing the lowly 128-run target, the Hashmatullah Shahidi-led Afghanistan cantered to victory in 26.5 overs, with opener Sediqullah Atal stroking a half-century.
Sediqullah Atal was named the Player of the Series for his remarkable performance with the bat, scoring 156 runs at an impressive average of 78.00, including a century and a half-century to his name.
Afghanistan have now won each of their bilateral ODI series against Zimbabwe except the one in 2014, which was shared. They have also won six back-to-back white-ball series in 2024.
Afghanistan captain Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss and opted to bowl first in the 3rd ODI match against Zimbabwe taking place at the Harare Sports Club, Harare on December 21, Saturday.
