Bangladesh continued their inspired performance with bat and ball on the fourth day of the second and final Test to demolish hosts West Indies by 101 runs at Sabina Park in Kingston, Jamaica on Tuesday (December 3, 2024). Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam was the star of the show, as he snared five wickets for 50 runs to crush all hopes of the home team. Jaker Ali had earlier constructed a superlative 91-run knock to propel the visitors to a 268-run total.
The match saw a number of players standing up to be counted for Bangladesh. Fast bowler Nahid Rana, for instance. Starting the previous day at 70-1, West Indies had no answers to the 22-year-old Nahid Rana (5-61), who completed his maiden five-for in Test cricket to engineer an 18-run lead for the visitors.
The win was made even sweeter for Mehidy Hasan Miraz's men by the fact that the hosts had won the first Test by a staggering 201 runs. The comeback victory was Bangladesh's third in the Caribbean. They now have more away wins in West Indies than in any other country.
