Bangladesh have been forced for at least one change for the upcoming Test, with fast bowler Nahid Rana flying out to Pakistan to participate in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). In his absence, Tanzim Hasan Sakib is set to make his Test debut.

Brian Bennett and Ben Curran have walked out to open the innings, with Bennett taking first strike. Hasan Mahmud has been handed the new ball and will open the attack for Bangladesh, looking to make early inroads and put pressure on the batting side right from the start.

Tanzim Hasan Sakib claimed his maiden Test wicket with a brilliant delivery to dismiss Brian Bennett for 21. The ball, pitched on a good length and angling across the right-hander, proved too much for Bennett, who attempted a cut shot with hard hands. The ball took a thick edge and flew to Jaker Ali, who made a sharp catch after moving to his right.

Earlier, Zimbabwe started strong with 41-runs partnership between Bennet and Ben Curran.

The ball, which showed subtle turn and a hint of skid, caught Curran off guard as he attempted to slap it away after backing away. Islam, who struck in his very first over, wasn’t given the best delivery but managed to use a slight variation in pace to his advantage. It was a huge wicket for Bangladesh, as Curran had started to look comfortable at the crease.

An engaging opening session of Test cricket saw Zimbabwe make a solid start after winning the toss, but they were soon pegged back by a couple of quick wickets. Bennett fell to a loose shot, and Curran, who had looked promising, also departed trying to force the ball through the off side. Since then, Williams and Welch have steadied the ship, with Welch particularly capitalizing on scoring opportunities, a crucial factor as the pitch starts to show signs of spin.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, will be pleased with their efforts so far, considering the traditionally batting-friendly nature of this venue. Tanzim, on debut, made an early breakthrough, followed by Taijul getting his name on the wicket column. With the ball spinning consistently, Taijul, Mehidy, and Nayeem will be key for Bangladesh as they aim to make further inroads in the second session.

Welcome back to the post-lunch session of Day 1, where the play has been evenly balanced between both teams, with neither side managing to gain a clear upper hand. The session was a tale of cautious progress and missed opportunities for both teams. However, the challenge for the visiting batters intensifies as the pitch starts to offer more bounce and spin, creating a tricky proposition for them in the remainder of the day. With the ball beginning to misbehave more frequently, it will require a great deal of skill and patience for the batters to tackle the rest of the session effectively.

Nick Welch and Sean Williams partnered together for a half-century stand after both the openers feel early in the first session to give strong foundation to Zimbabwe. Welch in particular played the anchor role playing aggressively and collecting boundaries in regular intervals.

Nick Welch brings up his second Test fifty with a classy shot, guiding a back-of-a-length delivery fine of backward point. He played it late, showing great composure and timing to pick up two runs. A quick, satisfied fist pump followed as he raised his bat towards the dressing room, acknowledging the milestone. It's been a steady, determined knock from Welch, providing stability for his side.

Zimbabwe will be delighted with their effort in the second session, adding 72 runs without losing a wicket and firmly taking control of the innings. Both Nick Welch and Sean Williams notched up their fifties, showcasing excellent composure and tight defensive techniques. Despite Bangladesh's best efforts — with their spinners and pacers trying various tactics — the wicket offered little assistance, and the bowlers found no way through. Williams did have a minor run-out scare, but he quickly regained his focus. With Zimbabwe building a strong platform, the final session becomes crucial; another solid passage of play could put serious pressure on the Bangladesh attack and set up a dominant position for the hosts.

At Tea ZIM are 161/2

The final session of Day One begins after tea, where the momentum firmly lies with Zimbabwe. After an even first session, the visitors dominated the second through the resilient and composed batting of Nick Welch and Sean Williams. Both batters have shown excellent temperament, punishing loose deliveries and keeping the scoreboard ticking with smart strike rotation.

While the pitch has begun to assist spinners, offering nearly double the turn compared to the first Test in Sylhet, Bangladesh라이브 바카라 spin trio have struggled to make a breakthrough, creating only a few half-chances. With Zimbabwe looking well set and Bangladesh desperate for wickets, the third session promises to be an intriguing battle of patience and skill.

Sean Williams and Craig Ervine have been dismissed in quick succession and that has suddenly turned this game a little bit on the side of Bangladesh. Zimbabwe were cruising at 177-2 but are suddenly at 179 for four. Nayeem Hasan with two quick wickets has brought Bangladesh back into the game.

Zimbabwe are in deep trouble as they have lost five wickets in quick succession for just 44 runs as Bangladesh bowlers ran through the lower batting order. Taijul Islam and Nayeeem Hasan shared six wickets between them as visitord were left in trouble.

Stumps on Day 1 and Bangladesh firmly hold the upper hand. Zimbabwe had done well for much of the day, especially through the first two sessions, but a dramatic collapse in the final session turned the tide completely. Taijul Islam spearheaded the charge with a brilliant five-wicket haul, while Nayeem Hasan provided vital support with a couple of scalps. The slide began soon after Nick Welch retired hurt post-tea.

Craig Ervine was dismissed by Nayeem, before Sean Williams fell to a sensational catch taken by Tanzim Hasan Sakib. From there, Taijul took over, triggering a steady procession of wickets. Welch returned when Zimbabwe were eight down but lasted just two balls before being bowled by Taijul. From a commanding 177 for 2, Zimbabwe crumbled to 227 for 9, squandering a strong position. Bangladesh will aim to wrap up the innings quickly on Day 2 and build a substantial first-innings lead.
