The iconic Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad will host the first two T20Is of the series, then the caravan will head to Lahore to play the remaining three matches.

Faisalabad is yet to host a T20I match, but the venue was one of the popular stops in Pakistan's international cricket calendar before the terror attack on the Sri Lankan national team in 2009. It last hosted an international match, an ODI against Bangladesh, on April 11, 2008.

A total of 24 Tests and 16 ODIs have been played at the Iqbal Stadium, and some of those fixtures continue to evoke strong memories. It opened to international cricket with much fanfare, hosting the high-profile first Test during India's tour of Pakistan 1978-79. For the record, the last Test at the venue was also a Pakistan vs India match in 2006.

But the most (in)famous event at the venue on the third day of the second Test during England's tour of Pakistan 1987-88. A heated confrontation between Mike Gatting and one of the umpires (Shakoor Rana) led to the suspension of play for the day. The venue also witnessed Sanath Jayasuriya hitting 253 in 2004.
