As per a report in The Indian Express, all franchises—barring Punjab Kings—have been asked to report to their respective venues by Tuesday, with the board aiming to finalize a revised schedule and resume matches at the earliest.

The league is expected to resume with an intensified schedule, including multiple double headers, in a bid to complete the season by its originally scheduled end date of May 25.

A BCCI source told The Indian Express, “Punjab will have a neutral venue, so their destination is yet to be confirmed. The board is planning to have more double headers so that they can finish the IPL as per its scheduled day.”

The decision follows the official announcement of a ceasefire between the two nations on Saturday, which paved the way for a possible return of the tournament.

Earlier, IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal had confirmed to the publication that the board was actively exploring options to restart the league “immediately” after the ceasefire was declared.

Most overseas players and support staff had left India following the suspension of the IPL on Friday. Franchises are now working on bringing their foreign personnel back, with the BCCI instructing them to update travel arrangements at the earliest.

As for the venues, the BCCI had earlier shortlisted Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad to host the remaining 12 matches of the season. However, a final call will be taken after consultations with the Indian government to ensure the safety and feasibility of hosting games in these cities.

The last scheduled match—between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings—was called off on Thursday in Dharamsala due to security concerns, compounded by a power failure that affected floodlights at the venue. The board clarified that the suspension was a precautionary measure given the tense geopolitical situation.
