Nair, born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, was a regular in the Karnataka set-up but the 33-year-old shifted allegiance to join Vidarbha last year.

Vidarbha had won their first two matches -- against Jammu and Kashmir by six wickets, and Chhattisgarh by eight wickets -- to set the pace in the seven-team group.
Manan Vohra's Chandigarh, meanwhile, are now fourth, behind Uttar Pradesh. Their opener was abandoned, then suffered a 13-run defeat against Chhattisgarh in a rain-affected match.
A six-wicket win against Mizoram, however, revived their hopes.
